A bridge walk & Voodoo Donuts

Ww walked across Tilikum Crossing so we could get a good view of Portland. After the bridge walkway headed over to check out Voodoo Donuts all the streets were shut down for a parade , luckily Tawhnee found out there was a Voodoo2 to not too far away, so we went to that one and the line was only about 15 minutes long, yeah! We all love the donuts they were quite tasty. Some were little on the inappropriate side some for the names. We'd go again.

Tillamook Cheese Factory & the Beach

We drove to Tillamook Cheese Factory for a fun day. The factory itself wasn't very big. We were able to tour it pretty quickly.  The big fun thing was buying the Ice cream Adventure.  This was one scoop of every flavor Tillamook makes. I think it was like 40 scoops!! We all shared of course and enjoyed trying a bunch of yummy combinations.
After the cheese factory, we drove out to the beach stopping at a hatchery on the way. The beach as with all Oregon beaches was stunning!

Cousins visit

On the last day of school my brother Chris and his family arrived for a visit. The last visit actually before their big move to Alaska.  The kids were super excited to see their cousins.  We were happy to have them all around for a few days.
The first night we hung around, had dinner and went swimming.

Award winner

I got an email invited me to a special awards ceremony the last day of school for Savannah. I didn't know exactly what award she was getting it was a surprise to me too. On her last day of 5th grade Savannah was awarded the Silver  Presidential Academic award. We're super proud of her .She did a great job all year even with the move. Can't believe that our family is entirely done with Elementary School.

Griffin's play

Griffin's Humanities class was studying Shakespeare the last month or so of the school year.  When he heard they were putting on a play Midsummer's Night Dream. He decided he wanted to play the part of Puck. He memorized all the lines in just one weekend.  Sadly,  he wasn't picked for the part. He was heartbroken.  After a day or two he fully embraced his role as a narrator.  I was able to attend the play. It was great! The kids all did so good. I enjoyed watching very much.
Griffin did wonderfully.
After the play, he had his cast mates sign his toga which I thought was pretty clever.
