Thanksgiving in Tucson

We had a bunch of fun while visiting Aunt Kim, Uncle Mike, Shelby and baby Cooper.
I think the highlight of the trip for the kids was watching Santa Buddies under this cool fort.

Don't they all look so cute?

We went to a movie, played and played and played some more.  Kim and I ventured out on Black Friday and did a little shopping which was fun (and we got some good stuff).  The kids enjoyed a picnic on Turkey Day.  After we finished eating the the guys made tons and tons of paper airplanes for the kids.  Which they really enjoyed.  The food was great, and the company was even better.

If you are wondering what my favorite part of the trip was it was this

He's such a cutie

A little pre- Turkey Day celebrating

Here is what Trevor and Griffin came home from school today with.  Savannah made her hat yesterday for her school Thanksgiving feast.  The last two days Trevor has been having Colonial days at school.  He made had dipped candles, fresh butter and even a little broom.  He has had a lot of fun learning about the colonial days.  Griffin made this adorable turkey to decorate our table. On his back is a recipe for Gobble-Good Turkey Casserole.
Hope You All Have A Great Thanksgiving!

An ear infection

After being up all night long crying, I took Miss Savannah to the Doctor early this morning and found out she has a nasty ear infection.  Here she is feeling better right before nap time.  She is showing off some of the stickers she got from her Doctor visit.

Naughty kids

I got a package delivered the other night.  Inside was a bunch of bubble wrap. I told the kids that they could jump on it ( you know enjoy the fun noises).  The box also contained two huge plastic bags I also thought were bubble wrap, but I could not get to pop so, I put those back in the box.  I went upstairs and let the kids get to jumping.  I trusted they were being good and having fun until I heard them say
"yeah, it's snowing"!  I went downstairs and discovered this :

Mom, Mom.....

It's snowing!!!
So... we headed out to the foothills and did a family
hike on this very chilly November day.  It was lots
of fun and nice to be out in the crisp air.

Operation Christmas Child

The women in my Church recently had an activity that I was unable to attend. I thought is was something that would be great to do as a family. It's called Operation Christmas Child you can find out all about it here. I showed the kids a few of the short videos on the website and told them what we would be doing and why. Then we went to Target to purchase stuff for our boxes. Savannah and I did one for a girl 2-4 years old, while the boys did one for a boy 5-8 years old. The kids were excited to find stuff to put into their boxes. Right before checkout Savannah said "I sure do love buying stuff for this box". When we came home we assembled the boxes. We will be paying the $7.00 for shipping each box online so we can track where each box ends up. If your looking for a good service project to do with your kids this one is great! It's the Season Of Giving you can drop off locally just enter your zip code drop off week Nov. 16-23

Griffin this time

Griffin stayed home yesterday because he had been up early in the morning with a croupy cough and felt warm. I figured since he seemed ok all day long he'd be able to go back to school today. Boy was I wrong. He started running a roaring fever during the night and his cough sounded horrible. It's always someone sick at our house. We've actually had 7 doctor visits this week alone, and none of those included Griffin. Patrick's Uvula was enlarged. Trevor had an appointment with his allergist and a CT scan done of his sinus cavity. I had two appointments with the cardiologist and a few other appointments. It's been busy. Not looking forward to our co-pays going up in January.
