Bath TIme

"Savannah get in your bath!"
"But Mom, I'm allergic to water!"

Here she is, not very happy that I didn't buy it!
That's a shame your allergic, now go get in the bath right now!

I'm tired tonight, and have a terrible headache.  Savannah is being difficult and
the boy's have been fighting.  Is it bedtime yet?  It is, oh, thank goodness!

Campout

The boy's had a campout tonight on the trampoline.  We all stayed outside till about 9:30
then, Patrick, Savannah and myself headed in for the night.  They are really excited to
sleep outside.  Armed with their flashlights, they are ready for a night on their own.

Savannah is not joining them because this
 is where she ends up
every single night around 3am.  We didn't think she was ready for a campout
without us with her just yet.

A new favorite

Last night the kids and I watched Mary Poppins.  I'm pretty sure the
boy's have seen it before, but I don't think Savannah had. The other
night while she was in the bath I told Savannah that when I was a little
girl I remember meeting Mary Poppins at Disneyland, she just looked
at me like who are you talking about?!  Then, the other day while ridding the
Carousel at Cliff's she said "wouldn't it be funny if the horse I'm ridding jumped right
off through the fence." I told her that actually happens in the movie Mary Poppins,
she laughed.  So, I knew we should watch it just in case we chance to meet
Mary Poppins on our upcoming trip to Disneyland.  Savannah LOVED it!!  At one
point during the movie she turned to me and said "she's very magical!" Toward the
end she said "all the songs are so beautiful!" She's watching it again now while the boys
opt to play in their room.  Having a little girl is so fun!

Cliff's

Last night we went to Cliff's amusment park for a special night with
Patrick's work.  We got to enjoy the park completly free, plus each
employee got a $25.00 gift card to use in the park, plus they had a
catered dinner that included dessert.  It was our first time going there.
We had lots of fun!  We found out that our boy's are NOT thrill seekers
at all!!  Griffin our big tough guy had a bit of a hard time with some rides.
He said he is NOT a
1. Roller Coaster man
2. A high man
3. A water slide man
Kiddie land area was his friend.  He felt pretty comfortable with
most the rides in that area.  Trevor tried to put on a brave face, but to our
surprise he also does not enjoy fast rides.  He rode on a few fast/big rides
with Patrick or myself.  He would say " I don't really like these angles".
One ride in particular I was loving, he was hating, when it was over he said
"well, I'm never gonna ride that again!"  He was a good sport about it.
Savannah loved fast /big rides and rode on several that the boy's wouldn't
dare to ride.  She was often bummed that she was not tall enough for some
of the bigger rides.  It was a really fun night, and free to boot!!
The favorite ride of the night.

Dinner time!

They played some games and all got prizes.

It was such a fun night.  We are offically ready for
our trip to CA in a few weeks.  More amusment parks,
more fun!

Buffett's Candies

As a treat for finishing our first chapter book of the summer,
we took a family trip for the first time ever to Buffett's Candies.

We were all in heaven!!  This is a candy shop that I've heard about, but never have
been to. We thought they had an awesome selection of handmade candies.
The cute litte lady who helped us was very friendly as well.  Great prices
& yummy candies, we are sold!  On to our next book.

A new trick

Savannah learned to ride her bike without training wheels yesterday! She was off right away without falling. We are so proud of our girl! She had a great time ridding around the park and our neighborhood. One more thing to check off her list.

A Tree & a Movie

We're so happy that our newly planted Magnolia Tree has slarted blooming.
We had a Magnolia tree at our house in South Carolina, which we loved.
We thought we'd try planting one here, not sure how it would do.  So far,
it seems to be doing great.  Patrick has made this his little project, finding out
lots of info on how to make it grow well here.  I miss the South, so this is a nice
reminder for us to enjoy.

We've been taking it easy the last few days.  It has gotten really hot and not super fun to spend time outside until 7pm or so.  In a few hours we're taking the kids to see the
movie Marmaduke I'm sure the kids will love it!

We Love Dessert

The other day, while in the middle of letterboxing we stopped for dessert at a local place
we love called Flying Star.   It sure was yummy!
