The pumpkin patch

Yesterday we drove to Sauvie Island to check out the pumpkin patch. We didn't actually go for pumpkins, we were on a quest for fresh apples. The farm was beautiful and the market had all kinds of wonderful beautiful produce. After we did some shopping we looked at the beautiful flowers and then the kids played for a while on the Giant hay bale  pyramid.
After we left the pumpkin patch, we headed to the Rock Creek Tavern for dinner and the little shuffleboard too. It was a lovely evening out.

Final summer outing

Yesterday was our final family outing of the summer. Decided to go to the beach and have a campfire. On the way, we stopped at a restaurant called Camp 18 for dinner. It's  just like an old miners camp. There's all kinds of really cool wood carvings in Old equipment that they used during the mining and Lumberjack days. The food itself was mediocre at best, but the atmosphere was worth going to at least once.  It was fun to walk around and see all the stuff.

After that, we hit the beach!

We pulled into to the beach, found a perfect location and set up a little campfire  pit. We walked around on the beach, watched  the Sun go down the weather was perfect! It was seriously the best day at the beach we've had since we moved here. I'd say around 7:45 we lit the campfire fire and hung out. After a while we enjoyed roasting marshmallows and then s'mores. When it got fully dark we would go down to the beach in the pitch-black,  kind of a neat experience. When you turned around, and saw the glow of campfires all along the beach was beautiful. It looked like something from a magical land. It was so peaceful and relaxing sounds of waves crashing,  the laughs of people in the distance, seagulls squawking  it was wonderful. We stayed until about 10:45 at night enjoyed the campfire and telling scary stories.
It was a magical night.  I hope we do it again maybe it'll be a tradition for us!

Getting ready for Middle School

Savannah went over to her new Middle School to get a tour and pick up her schedule.
She's pretty excited about starting 6th grade. The schools that she will be attending is being housed in a brand new building, it's beautiful!

New job

Getting ready to start a new job. I'll be basically doing the same type of thing I was doing in New Mexico except it's called an IA. I'll be supporting 3rd grade. The school seems really nice it's called Jacob Wismer. I'm excited and nervous.

Day out with Trevor

Finally Trevor's turn to go shopping for some school stuff. We also went out to lunch, and went to a Teahouse where he had black tea with salted cream.

Oaks amusement park

I took Savannah to Oaks Amusement Park. She had earned but discount Ride Pass for the library summer reading program. Actually, all of the kids had, but she was the only one that wanted to go. While we were at the amusement park, Patrick took the boys to lunch and to the movies.
Savannah and I had a really good time.  We rode lots and lots of rides. Savannah even rode her very first loopy roller coaster!
It was a good day out.
