Air Hockey

The boys came home from school the other day to find a big
surprise waiting for them. Grandpa Pat sent a belated b-day
present to the boys, an air hockey table. They started to
play right away. They LOVE it! It is a huge hit! Thanks so
much Grandpa Pat & Grandma Debbie too.

Another one bites the dust...

Trevor came out of his room late last night when he should have
been sleeping. He said he lost another tooth. I guess he was
playing with it while he was lying in bed. We told him he looks
like a Jack-O-lantern . He is so cute with three holes in his smile.

Feast with the Beasts

The first week of school went really well. Tonight after school & dinner I packed up the kids and went to the zoo, for Feast with the Beasts. Patrick as most know works nights, so I try do do something fun with the kids Friday nights. I should have know that there would be about a Billion people there. After finding parking we walked to the zoo entrance and waited in a HUGE line for about 40 minutes just to get in . Most things like face painting and bounce houses were just WAY to long of a wait. We found the free Popsicles & cookies, then headed off to enjoy the animals. The exhibits were not crowded at all. It was nice to look at the animals during the evening, they all seemed way more active than usual. After looking at the animals we headed back to the main grassy area and watched jugglers, musicians and listened to a band. Griffin said, "I could relax here all day listening to these rock stars." Savannah was dancing like crazy & doing cart wheels to the beat of the music. Griffin also got his groove on. Trevor mostly enjoyed watching the jugglers. On the way out Griffin said, "when I grow up I'm going to be a Rock Star, because Rock Stars are loud & fun!" We had a really fun night. I'm glad I decided to take them to the crazy crowded Zoo. I even ran into a friend of mine, what are the odds?

First Day of School

Here are the boys before we left for school today. School was
on a 2 hour delay due to buses being vandalized. So school did
not start until 11:00 today.

Griffin waiting in line with his classmates. So sad to see my little
boy growing up. I guess it had to happen.

Thanks to a gift card Griffin got from his friends for his birthday

They have bounce houses, giant inflatable slide, obstacle course,
and a really fun play structure. The kids had a blast.

So long training wheel...

He's off with no problems at all
Showing off ridding with one hand

Griffin has been ridding around for about 6 weeks with just one training wheel. Patrick decided to take it off tonight. Griffin did GREAT!! He seems to have no trouble starting or stopping. One small crash is all. I was so surprised at how well he did. It made me wanna cry he's growing up.

Final Days of Summer

The last days of summer are upon us. Sunday we ditched church (ya, ya) we headed up to the Jemez Mountains. We did a hike at Battleship rock then let the kids play in the water. We then enjoyed a picnic lunch. After lunch we headed up the mountain a little further. We went on a second hike to Jemez Falls. It was a nice day out in the mountains together as a family. Last night after the kids went to their ice cream social at school we decided to go on a bike ride. We went to the Alameda open space to ride the trails. We had lots of fun & the kids did great. On the way back we passed a farm or ranch with all kinds of cool animals. They had Camels, Ostrich, Donkeys, Goats, Lamas and Horses. Nice evening out. It's been a nice summer kinda sad to see it end, especially the late evenings outside.

A little evening painting

This afternoon I went to Hobby Lobby to look at something.
Trevor had a little cash to burn so he decided he really
wanted to buy this wooden Nutcracker. His plan is to paint
it to look like Willie Wonka. After dinner we set everything up
and got started. So far so good.

Savannah & Griffin had to join in too. I had nothing for them to
paint, so I grabbed this piece of wood from the garage to share.
Notice the shirtless kids. I feel so much better if they can't
destroy their shirts. This is not the washable kind of paint.
Fun way to pass the rainy evening while Daddy is at the indoor
rock climbing gym.

So Cheap It's Free

So I was going to do a cereal deal at Walgreen, but I realized that
Smith's had a much better deal. Certain Kellogg's cereal were 1.50
buy 10 boxes and they take 5.00 off your order. There were some
great coupons in today's paper including for Kellogg's cereal.
I went & got 2 more papers and some paper towels used my
register rewards from last week I had so paid nothing out of
pocket. Went to Smith's with 5 1.00 off 2 boxes of cereal. My
total was 5.00 The best part is there is a mail in rebate. Buy 10
boxes of Kellogg's cereal get 10.00 back. So, basically I get the
cereal for free & they pay me 5.00 more dollars! Yippee ...
Patrick is tired of all the cereal I've been buying though.
On the way out of the store I went to the REDBOX to rent a movie
which was also free. Here are some codes for the REDBOX each code
can be used once per credit card.
