Pumpkin carving

After a busy Saturday, we got some Toasted marshmallow
hot coccoa from Satellite coffe, then brought it home to enjoy
while carving our pumkins.

After we finished with our pumpkins we watched Hocus Pocus.
It was a fun night together.

Funny tooth

Savannah has a tooth growing in before her bottom teeth have
fallen out. She has one super wiggly tooth on the bottom right
now. She is super excited about loosing her first tooth or maybe
teeth. Griffin had the same thing happen to him too.

My wish list

Since the boys have shared their Christmas wish
lists, I thought I would to. Although, I already know
mine is truely a wish list. A girl can dream.

1. All of our old videos put onto CD's.

2.  A new mixer (I've always wanted a Kitchen Aid)

3. A new better bike
4. A nice camera
5.PJ's (I've had the same ones for a long time, seriously some
Pat bought me the christmas that I was pregnant with Savannah)

Maybe if I'm really good I'll get one of these  :)

Apple pie anyone?

Last week my friend Trayce hosted a canning day. Another
friend of ours Janice came over to help us make and can
apple pie filling.   It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot.
I was able to come up with 7 quarts jars of apple pie filling.
I still have lots of apples too.  Maybe this will turn into a yearly
tradition?

Flashback Friday

We recently hooked up all of our old computers and got our old
pictures off of them.  We then put them on our current computer.
I love looking thru the pictures, seeing how everyone has grown.
I think on Friday's I'll share some.

These were all taken at the pumpkin patch 10/10/07

No Tech

Sometimes I feel like the world is moving forward and I am not.
I tell people all the time that I'm not low tech, I'm NO tech.

Today especially made me think about all the advancements.
While working in Savannah's class her teacher brought out
her ipad, she had us take the kids one by one to practice
writting their abc's.  I told her I didn't even have a cell phone
and she was very surprised ( I have a pay as you go phone I
keep in the car for emergencies).  I hear people talk about
getting kids 8 & 9 years old cell phones, and laptops, crazy!

Call me old fashioned, but I relish in the fact that my kids don't
care about any of that stuff.  Our kids play, play & play some
more.  Right now Savannah is playing with wooden blocks, while
they boys are in the backyard making a city out of dirt.

We have one t.v
We have one computer
We don't have cell phones

We do have a wii that they can play on Saturday's only
for a few hours total if they were good at school all week.
We don't watch very much t.v around here either.

I love looking at their christams lists.  Wands, books, art stuff,
games ect.  I know they will grow up and embrace technology
someday, but for now I'm happy they don't need or want it.
So what do our kids like to do?  Play outside, ride bikes, go for
walks/hikes (with us).  Jump on the trampoline, crafts like drawing,
cutting and glueing, playdough, legos, blocks, babydolls,
school and the BIG one around here is reading.  Any given day
you will find the kids laying around reading books.

As for me, we've had big plans for cell phones, it's just never been
a very big priority.  A nice flat screen t.v might be nice, but I'm ok
with this big 'ol clunker t.v we have.  A laptop would be nice too, but
I'm in no big rush ..... I hope I stay this way too!
Don't get me wrong. I love having a computer, so nice to stay in touch,
blog ect.  T.V is great I really enjoy watching a show or movie when the kids
go to bed.  I just don't think we need all this technology, all the time.

That's me though, you may be completly different!

Balloon Fiesta Day 2 & Family time

My sister & her two kids came down for a visit last Wednesday
(her husband had to work). On Thursday my Mom joined us for
a visit as well.  It was great having everyone around.  On Thursday
evening we headed to Balloon Fiesta for the special shapes glow.
We brought a picnic dinner with us, and were super excited.
Well, as luck would have it the winds were too high, so the glow
was cancelled  :(
We still had a good evening hanging out, seeing the sights,
shopping, and getting cards from the balloon pilots.

While they were here we went to the Indian Pueblo Cultural
center. It was pretty cool.  The kids enjoyed the dancers, and
the hands on activities the museum had.  After that, we went to
old town for lunch and shopping.  It was a fun day!
Aunt Kim bougght the kids feathers and
the kids made up a game called Eagles & Owls
which they played the rest if the visit, cute!
We got to kiss these cheeks a bunch!
It was so nice to have them come for a visit!  Griffin had extra
people cheering him on at his soccer game, we had lots of fun
play time with cousins, and I enjoyed some time with my mom
& sister.  Oh, my mom is healing from her car accident,
she's not 100% yet, but she's doing much better.  It was a great
visit, thanks for coming!

Balloon Fiesta Day 1

We woke up early, 4:45am to be exact to go to the
Balloon Fiesta.  As always, it was worth the loss of sleep.
It is truely an amazing event to see.  If you ever get the
chance to come to New  Mexico in October, this is
awesome!  Here are some pictures of our morning.
