Idaho- Vacation Days 1 & 2

We headed out for Idaho early (5:00am) The drive went well, and everyone was in good spirits ready for our big adventure.  We arrived at Grandpa John's & Grandma Shelley's around 6pm.  We chatted for a bit, then all went into Lava for some pizza.

After dinner Patrick, the kids and I decided to go over to the hot pools.  After a long day of driving it was very relaxing.  Trevor the typical teen spent a good deal of time on his own checking out the ladies.  It was a nice evening. Everyone decided that day one of vacation was a hit.

After the hot pools, we had some ice cream with Grandpa, (something he always has at his house) then headed to bed.

In the morning we all drove into Pocatello for breakfast.  They took us to a restaurant we love called Butterburrs.  It was very tasty.  After breakfast we drove over to visit with my Grandma Pearl for a little bit.  She's getting up there in age, and doesn't like especially long visits. It was nice for the kids to see their Great Grandma. Next up was our favorite store Fred Myer to stock up on some food and clothing we needed.

We drove back to Lava, and the kids really wanted us to take them to the awesome pool, so we obliged.  They had a blast!  Griffin spent a large amount of time on the high boards.  Trevor spent lots of time on the slides.  Savannah spent lots of time swimming, and meeting new friends.
It is such a great pool, we love coming here!

We went back to my Dad's after the pool, and he decided it was time to give Trevor a chance to drive the ranger. Trevor was very excited.  While he was driving he looked so serious.

He drove us out near Grandpa's creek where we all walked around for awhile. The kids love going down there.

Savannah fell and scraped her knee.  I was telling her "vacation is rough."  She was a little cranky, but Grandpa drove the ranger super close to give her a ride back.

We went over to the horses after that.  Then walked over to the barn. The kids like the horses, but they love hanging in the barn even more.

Most of these pictures were actually taken on the first night before dinner, but we did the same stuff with the horses both nights.

In the evening there was a wonderful rainstorm.  We enjoyed sitting out on the porch watching it.  Great end to our visit.

We had a nice, but quick visit with Grandpa John & Grandma Shelley.  Before we knew it, it was already time to hit the road for California.
