Backyard Happiness

While we were in California work got started on our backyard.  After living here over 5 yrs.  We were so excited to finally have our big dream patio done.  It looks great.  Now for rock, and hopefully color stucco on all of the walls.  It looks so much better already.  I know we will enjoy spending lots of time together back there this spring/summer.

Birthday gifts

Can't wait to read these books from Grandpa!
So surprised and excited!
Gifts from her friend Julia.

Curly enjoying her new bed.

When we got home we found a birthday surprise by the door for Savannah from her friend Julia.  She loved the gifts and wore the nightgown to bed.  The next morning, Patrick surprised her with her "big" gift from us.  He built a bed for Curly, and I bought the bedding off esty.  She loves it.  Now Curly has a bed right next to Savannah.
Monday at school her friend Kailey gave her a gift a bunch of craft projects, and princess lip glosses.
That afternoon she got a package from Grandpa Pat with a bunch of American Girl books.

With her money from Grandma Linda/Grandpa Dan & Grandma Shelley/Grandpa John she bought a few small "girlie" lego sets.  She plans to spend the rest on an Easy Bake Oven.

I'd say Savannah had a great 7th birthday!

Party Day

My Mom threw Savannah a really cute hawaiian birthday party.  It was fun having Grandma plan out her 7th birthday.

Seeing her cake Grandma made for the first time.
Even Curly celebrated

It was a really fun day.  It was extra special because Savannah was able to spend her birthday with her Grandma.  Since we live so far, that does not happen often.  I'm sure she will remember this party always.

A day out with Grandma

One day we decided to go do something.  Grandma took out to lunch at the Habbit, then took us mini golfing.  It was fun.  Trevor was the best player, maybe some golf is in his future.

There was an arcade inside, so when we finished Grandma gave the kids money to play.

It was a fun day.  We were all exhausted by the end, being sick is hard.

Grandma Linda's

We were all excited to make it to Grandma's house.  She is a really good host, and always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable.  Ths was especially good because Trevor and Savannah were both pretty sick now.  The first few hours at her house they just laid on the couch.

When Savannah's fever went down a little, it was time to go outside to check out the chickens.
Griffin & Savannah got to feed them, and gather their eggs.

Since kids were sick, and I was getting sick we didn't do much at Grandma's.  We did drive around to see all the fruit tree orchards.  Sunkist has a bunch of orange orchards here.  I saw an empty house with a big lemon tree, so I decided to snatch a few.  I made some yummy lemon bars with fresh lemons, and fesh eggs from my mom's chickens.  They were good!

More California

After a slow morning of cousins hanging out, we headed to Old town Sacramento.
We decided to go to the Railroad museum.  The plan was to also take a ride on the steam train, but we were told they don't start doing train rides until April, bummer.  The museum was very cool though.
They had tons of full sized train, many we could climb abord to get a closer look.

After the museum, we walked around old town.  We  had lunch, and did a little window shopping.  We ended our old town fun with a walk over the Sacramento river.

Later, we went back to my brother Brad's house, where sick children were medicated.  Kids played and adults chatted.  We had pizza for dinner.  Sammy made cupcakes for all the kids to decorate.

They gave Savannah a birthday present which she was so excited to open.

They gave her a super cute sundress, and her fist set of Junie B Jones books!

The next day around noon it was time f or us to say goodbye.  We had another 4 hour drive back down to Grandma Linda's.  The kids spent the morning playing with each other.
