Ringing in a new year

 

Today, the last day of the year we spent together as a family.  It was a bit boring most of the day.  We took down our Christmas lights, and cleaned out the garage.  After that was done Mom & Dad took a nice long nap, while the kids played on their gadgets.  We took a nice walk as a family in the late afternoon.  As we were walking out of our house a beautiful hot air balloon started rising up from behind our house. 

After the walk, it was time for dinner.  Trevor got to work making egg drop soup to go with our Chinese feast.  His soup turned out great!  We all ate very well.

 

After dinner the kids all took showers, then it was time for game night!

 

We decided on Ticket to Ride.

 

In between our turns we had a dance party, the music was turned up, and we were getting a little crazy!!  It was lots of fun!

After the game was over we watched a movie.  While the movie was going I got to work on the lava cakes I make every New Year's eve.  Right as the movie ended we enjoyed them. 

 

 

By this time it was time to get ready to ring in the New Year.  We broke out the sparkling cider, horns, and poppers.

We had a great night, and we're hoping that 2014 I fantastic!!!
